It's been an interesting journey. From school (primary to university), to Job, to Entrepreneur. Throughout every stage, I've built some form of relationship with people. I've learnt and still continue to learn more about developing healthy relationships and understanding how to keep them going. I recognized, especially in business or in the workplace, I can't succeed by myself. As I run my business, this understanding gets even clearer to me.
Couple years ago, I remembered learning about business relationships from none other than the late, Jim Rohn. I remembered him saying that many people do not understand how important relationships are in business. It's hard to find a rich hermit..
Jim Rohn says " So many times we underestimate this unique dynamic that has the potential to take us to new levels in our businesses. We may understand that family and friends are about relationships, but mistakenly think that "business is business". The fact is that even in business, relationships rule. Think for a moment about two sales people, one of whom is a friend and one of whom you have never met before. When it comes right down to it, you are most likely to buy from the one you know. That is the foundation of relationships. "
The primary goal we should have in any relationship, even in business, is to honor the innate value of each person or party involved.
Every person has tremendous value and in the midst of our business with them we should not only remember that, but act in every way as though we have the utmost respect for them, allowing them at all times to know they are valued and that they are a person of importance. If our business degrades the value of another human being, it is no longer an honorable business. People are important, no matter who they are, and we should treat them that way.
Me with my awesome Team for a fun night!!
